Crafted in Germany using local rye and fresh spring water, The Westfalian 2012 German Single Rye Whiskey (50cl, 53.6% ABV) is a distinctive single-cask release distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2020 from Cask No. 93. Distilled with Scottish expertise and matured in new American oak barrels, it marries classic European grain character with bold American cask influence. On the nose, it offers inviting aromas of rustic rye bread, toasted vanilla, sweet oak, and a blend of warm baking spices. The palate delivers a full-bodied, cask-strength punch of spicy pepper, caramelized sugar, dark cherry, and oak tannins, leading into a long, satisfying finish marked by lingering wood spice and dry rye cereal notes.
