Octomore 2011 6 Year Old Dramfool Islay Whisky Festival 2018 Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl, 62.0% ABV
Bottled exclusively for Fèis Ìle 2018 by independent bottler Dramfool, this rare 6-year-old Octomore single malt was distilled in 2011 from a single ex-bourbon cask #4552 at the Bruichladdich distillery. Heavily peated to an impressive 150 PPM and bottled at a robust 62.0% ABV without chill-filtration, this 253-bottle limited run cuts through its formidable wall of thick Islay peat smoke, ash, and brine with rich layers of sweet vanilla, lemon zest, and honeyed malt from the oak.
Dramfool is an independent whisky bottler founded in 2015 by Bruce Farquhar and Colin Fraser in Scotland. The company quickly gained recognition for its commitment to bottling only single cask whiskies that meet the founders' personal standards of quality and character. Bruce, whose passion for whisky has taken him across Europe and Japan, adheres to the mantra of bottling only what he personally enjoys. Colin, raised near the famed Speyside distilleries, was driven by a desire to make quality casks more accessible to private buyers.
