Loch Lomond Distillery Edition Five "Orchard & Vineyard" (distilled in 2015) is an 8-year-old, fruit-forward single malt Scotch whisky that showcases the distillery's experimental craftsmanship. Made from 100% unpeated malted barley, it was distilled in Loch Lomond's distinct Straight Neck stills at a high collection strength of 85% ABV. Master Blender Michael Henry fermented this batch using a combination of Chardonnay wine yeast and distillers yeast to amplify its lush, orchard-fruit esters. Matured in first-fill American oak casks and bottled at a potent cask strength of 59.1% ABV without chill-filtration or added coloring, it offers a bright, vibrant palate of honeyed sweetness, green apple, kiwi, and white grape, rounded out by a lingering finish of tart citrus and gentle cinnamon spice.
