Kilchoman WW100 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exclusive single-cask release bottled in May 2018 to commemorate the First World War centenary events on Islay. Distilled in 2010 (cask #742/2010) and aged for eight years in a fresh ex-bourbon barrel, this un-chillfiltered, natural-color expression packs a punch at a powerful cask strength of 58% ABV. The nose opens with vibrant maritime peat smoke, crisp lemon citrus, sweet vanilla, and rich orchard fruit aromas. On the palate, a oily, full-bodied mouthfeel yields intense bonfire smoke, tropical fruit intensity, honeyed barley, and warm black pepper spice. It concludes with a long, lingering, and smoky finish marked by charred oak, medicinal peat, citrus zest, and a touch of sea salt. One of 252 bottles.
