Distilled at Balblair’s Edderton distillery and bottled in 2009 after roughly 12 years of maturation, the Balblair 1997 Vintage is a fruit-forward Highland single malt aged chiefly in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. It presents bright aromas of pineapple, green apple, vanilla, and honeyed malt, leading into a creamy palate of poached pears, soft toffee, and warm oak spices like cinnamon. It concludes with a clean, satisfying finish balanced by fresh citrus and lingering wood warmth.
