White Heather

White Heather began life in the mid-20th century as part of S. Campbell & Son, a Glasgow-based whisky company founded in the 1930s. The blend was created in the early 1950s and became known for its smooth, approachable character, drawing heavily on Speyside malts such as Aberlour. It was offered in several age statements and enjoyed popularity for decades. When Pernod Ricard acquired Campbell Distillers in 1974, White Heather remained in production for a time, but by the 1980s it was discontinued as the company shifted its focus to other brands.

After lying dormant for many years, White Heather was brought back in 2021 by The GlenAllachie Distillers Company under the guidance of master blender Billy Walker. The revival aimed to respect the original heritage while creating a more premium product. Today’s blend uses a high proportion of malt whisky from Speyside, Highland, and Islay, matured in a mix of sherry, bourbon, and virgin oak casks. Modern expressions like the 15-year-old and 21-year-old have earned praise for their complexity and craftsmanship, re-establishing White Heather as a name associated with quality and tradition.
