Speyside

Speyside Distillery was a boutique single malt producer tucked away in the Cairngorm foothills, celebrated for its handcrafted approach and serene setting. Established in 1990 within a converted 18th-century barley mill, it drew water from the River Tromie and operated on a modest, artisanal scale. The distillery was known for its SPEY and Beinn Dubh whiskies, as well as Byron’s Gin.

Production ceased in late 2024, and the distillery officially fell silent in May 2025.

Speyside Distillers Company will relocate in 2025 to a newly acquired Highland estate and will operate under a different distillery name. Consequently, all the whisky produced at Speyside Distillery up to 2025 will be classed as whisky-distillate from a lost distillery after 2025.
