Lochlea

Lochlea is an independent, family-owned farm distillery in Ayrshire, Scotland, uniquely situated on the land where national poet Robert Burns lived and worked from 1777 to 1784. Operating with a strict "field-to-cask" philosophy, the distillery grows 100% of its own barley on-site, ensuring full traceability and a distinct Lowland character that leans toward bold, juicy orchard fruits and a rich cereal profile.

By early 2026, Lochlea has matured from its initial "Seasonal" limited editions into a permanent Single Estate core range. This lineup includes the flagship Our Barley alongside three new permanent expressions: the apple-forward Orchard & Oak, the sherry-influenced Dark Briar, and the delicately peated Smoke Without Fire. This evolution, alongside the recent release of their milestone 7-Year-Old limited edition, marks Lochlea’s transition from a promising newcomer to a cornerstone of modern Scottish distilling.
