Three Drams To Have With Your Haggis This Burns Night! - Old and Rare Whisky

Three Drams To Have With Your Haggis This Burns Night!

There’s no word of a lie that he is a true legend in all his might and on the 25th January we celebrate his legacy once again. Robert Burns (also known as Rabbie Burns, the Bard of AyrshirePloughman Poet and various other names) was a famous Scots poet who died way before his time at the very young age of 37. His work included masterpieces such as "A Red, Red Rose", "A Man's a Man for A' That", "To a Louse", "To a Mouse", "The Battle of Sherramuir", "Tam o' Shanter" and "Ae Fond Kiss” to name a few.

Traditionally in Scotland on the night of January 25th, most people (not all, contrary to belief!) Will have their evening meal as Haggis, Neeps and Tatties - a delicious dish of Haggis, turnips/swedes and potatoes (however you have them is up to you!) With a glass of Irn Bru, people will be delighted at this dish however we here at Old & Rare Whisky, we prefer something a little bit stronger with our supper!
